Chamfer Tool/Depth Gauge for HDPE Socket Fusion

Chamfer tools are an essential part of properly preparing HDPE geothermal pipe for socket fusion. Geo-Flo’s combination chamfer tool and depth gauge allows the installer to create a precise lead-in chamfer on the end of the pipe while establishing the correct fusion depth.

The chamfer creates a beveled edge that allows the pipe to enter the fusion face and fitting more smoothly and consistently during the socket fusion process. Once the pipe has been chamfered, the cold ring tool is positioned directly behind the chamfer/depth gauge, establishing the proper insertion depth for the fusion.

Using the chamfer tool and depth gauge together with the appropriate cold ring helps ensure proper pipe preparation, consistent fusion depth, and a reliable socket fusion joint.

Proper chamfer + accurate depth + the correct cold ring = a properly prepared HDPE fusion connection.
